Carpet making goes back to the Middle Ages here, mechanical looms arrived early in the 20th century, and at its height the town had more than eighty factories and led Spain in carpet production and export. Foreign competition has put the sector through hard years since. The town’s industrial estates are I-Faima, Crevillente Industrial, Cachapets, I-4 (Carretera de la Estación), which the council has been improving with regional grants, plus the older industrial zones of the town plan on its west, south and east sides. Units on any of them are covered. ## What gets opened, changed or repaired ### Units and warehouses Pedestrian side doors, the lock of a roller or sectional shutter, padlocks on gates and containers. Opened when the key will not work, and the cylinders changed when keys have gone astray. For the checks worth making before an empty weekend, read [the guide for units on I-Faima and Cachapets](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/blog/a-unit-on-i-faima-or-cachapets-over-the-weekend/). ### Shops in the centre Shutter locks, glass shop doors, back doors to a yard. A shutter that will not lift in the morning is opened first and repaired after closing, if that suits you better. ### Offices Office doors, the door of a records room, cylinders changed when staff change. Where a safe holds the takings or documents, see [safe opening and fitting](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/safe-opening-crevillente/). After a forced entry, the premises are made to lock the same day and stronger locks fitted when you are ready: [repairs after a break-in](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/burglary-repair-crevillente/). ## Planned work on premises, step by step 1. **List the doors** Which doors, shutters and padlocks, and which keys open which. Photos help. 2. **Agree a time** Before opening, after closing, or between shifts. 3. **Agree the price** For the locks actually being changed, before the work begins. 4. **Hand over the keys** Each new set tested in its own door, and labelled if you want. A door in the building that is not a business door, such as a flat above the shop? That is [an ordinary lock change](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/lock-change-crevillente/), or [door opening](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/door-opening-crevillente/) if it is shut. To book, [ring, message or email](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/contact/). ## Asked by people who run premises ### Can the work on our unit be done before the first shift arrives? Planned work is booked at a time agreed with you, and an early start can be arranged. If the unit cannot be opened at all, that is a call-out at whatever hour it happens. ### An employee has left with a set of keys. What do we change? The cylinders that set of keys opens, and nothing more. Make a list of which doors and padlocks the keys fitted; replacing only those keeps the cost down. ### Who can ask you to open a unit or a shop? The owner, the tenant or someone the business authorises, with something that shows it: a lease, a company document, or the owner confirming by phone. ### Do you weld shutters or make security grilles? No. The work is on locks: the lock of a roller shutter, its padlocks, doors and cylinders. Metal fabrication is a job for a metalworker. ## Often booked with premises work - [**Securing a door that was forced** Someone has forced the door](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/burglary-repair-crevillente/) - [**A safe opened** The safe won’t open, or I need one fitted](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/safe-opening-crevillente/) - [**How each kind of door gets opened** This particular door needs opening](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/door-opening-crevillente/) Guides that send readers here - [A unit on I-Faima or Cachapets over an empty weekend](https://locksmithcrevillente.es/blog/a-unit-on-i-faima-or-cachapets-over-the-weekend/) · 5 min ## A door or shutter that will not open?
