If the keys go missing during Holy Week, what to try first, and what to tell us when you ring. 7 October 2026 · 5 min read Crevillente’s Holy Week has been a Fiesta of International Tourist Interest since 2011, and for a week in spring it takes over the centre. The brotherhoods carry **32 floats**; on the Wednesday they come in from every side of town for the *entrada de pasos* at the Church of Belén; at **dawn on Good Friday** people fill La Morquera for the meeting of mother and son on the way to the Calvary, and then sit down to the Good Friday breakfast of *pa torrat*. That evening comes the procession with the floats by Mariano Benlliure, and on the Saturday the Coros de Crevillent sing as six sculptural groups pass. It is a week of late nights, early mornings and crowds. Keys get lost. ## Before the processions start - **Carry the house key on its own**, in a zipped pocket, not on a big bunch in a coat you may take off. - **Make sure someone who is staying in has a key**: a neighbour you trust, or a relative nearby. - **Lock the door with the key** when you leave for a long night, rather than only pulling it shut. A pulled-to door is the easiest kind for anyone to get through. ## When the keys have gone Do things in this order: 1. **Retrace your steps calmly.** A lot of lost keys are found in the bar, on the chair, in the other pocket. 2. **Ask whoever you were with** to check their bags and coats. 3. **Think about who else has a key**: a family member, a neighbour, the landlord. 4. **If none of that works, ring.** The phone is picked up at any hour, including procession nights. If the keys were lost with anything that shows your address, such as a wallet, the cylinder should be changed once the door is open. That is quick, and it means the lost keys open nothing. ## What to tell us during Holy Week The processions fill the centre, and on those nights the van stops wherever it can and the locksmith walks the rest.
